I’m Dave, a documentary wedding photographer with a passion for taking natural photographs that capture the true essence of a wedding day. I'll catch those special moments as the day unfolds – the loving gazes, the smiles, the laughter and the tears... combine this with my love for creating stunning wedding portraits and I think we have the formula for the perfect wedding photographs.
Right now, I don't think there's ever been a more challenging time to pick the right photographer, the market has been flooded with low quality and inexperienced photographers, driving the value of this wonderful art form down – I pride myself on producing exceptional quality work and with over 10 years experience photographing weddings, you can trust that I have the experience to capture your day perfectly... Wedding photography is an investment – so invest wisely and make the pictures the best they can be.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my website and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
I'll spend most of the day in the background, capturing the day as it happens. The majority of the pictures I take will be completely 'hands off' and natural, so no forced smiles and awkward situations. It's your day, not mine – I want you to be able to look back at the pictures and remember just how your day went.
It's nice to have a few little time-outs throughout your day to go and get some bride/groom portraits. We can pop out a few times for 15 mins or so – this gives us a nice variety of pictures (like sunset and evening shots) without taking you away from your guests too much.
Don't worry if you aren't the most comfortable in front of a camera – My approach to portraits is very relaxed so I won't be spending ages posing you into awkward positions... I want to capture your personalities in the portraits.
I use state of the art lighting to capture stunning, award-winning portraits – timeless pictures that you just won't be able to stop looking at.
I'm at your wedding to capture it in a natural and candid way, but I understand it's not every day you have the people closest to you dressed up and looking smart. Group shots are best done shortly after the ceremony, while all of your guests are still together (and haven’t ran off to the bar yet!)
Group shots take longer than people expect and too many can start to take over a wedding day. My approach is to spend about 20-30 minutes getting shots of your VIP guests (Children, Parents, Grandparents, Siblings, and of course, the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen). We may have a little time left over to get a few fun/interesting group shots too.
Depending on the weather and the venue, we may be able to use a drone to capture some interesting portraits and a group shot of everyone... This can add an exciting and unique angle on your wedding day!
I’ve done a lot of weddings over the years and I’ve got a pretty good feel on how things are likely to go... Picking the right wedding photographer can be hard, so I'm always happy to answer any questions you may have – every step of the way.
